Position Overview

We are seeking a warm, dedicated Assistant Teacher to support our Lead Teacher and students in a multi-age Montessori classroom. This is a wonderful opportunity to grow within the Montessori community, whether you are new to education or looking to deepen your practice. This is a full-time, 10-month position.

Salary Range: $37,000–$46,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering Montessori lessons and maintaining the classroom environment
• Supervise, guide, and nurture students throughout the school day
• Assist with student observations and record-keeping
• Help prepare and maintain classroom materials and the prepared environment
• Support individual students who need additional guidance or redirection
• Assist during outdoor, lunch, and transition times
• Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development
• Communicate warmly and professionally with families as directed

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
• Interest in or familiarity with Montessori philosophy a strong plus
• Montessori assistant training or willingness to pursue it
• Caring, patient, and team-oriented approach
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
