We are hiring a Montessori Primary Teacher (Lead Teacher) for our ages 2.5–6 classroom. Montessori-certified candidates and early childhood educators interested in becoming Montessori certified are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Lead a Montessori Primary classroom (ages 2.5–6) using authentic Montessori methods
- Deliver individualized instruction that supports cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Maintain a peaceful, organized, and fully prepared Montessori environment
- Guide students through an uninterrupted morning work cycle and afternoon work period
- Collaborate with a Montessori-certified associate teacher and school leadership
- Communicate regularly with families to support each child’s learning
- Foster independence, curiosity, and hands-on learning through Montessori materials
Schedule
- Full-Time, in-person (7.5 hrs/day)
- School day: 8:35 AM–3:00 PM
- Approximately 181 workdays per year
- Two weeks off in December, one week in February, six days in April
- Two full months off in summer (ideal for work–life balance)
- Follows a typical local school-year calendar
Qualifications
- Montessori Primary (Early Childhood) Certification OR willingness to pursue certification (training support provided)
- Degree or experience in early childhood education preferred
- Passion for Montessori philosophy, early childhood development, and hands-on learning
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and respectful, child-centered teaching
How Montessori Teacher Training Works
Candidates without certification can train through an accredited Montessori teacher training program. A typical pathway includes:
- 4 weeks of summer coursework (3 in-person, 1 virtual)
- 5 weekend seminars (mix of virtual and in-person)
- A mentored teaching year with ongoing observations and support
