The ?Director of Admission and Enrollment Management? is responsible for the overall direction of student and family recruitment, enrollment, re-enrollment, and the fulfillment of admission goals. The Director envisions, plans, and executes all processes designed to grow and sustain a mission-serving student enrollment and re-enrollment, representing both the internal and external markets. This individual works in close partnership with the Head of School as well as manages an assistant to ensure that interrelated initiatives meet the school’s annual and longer-term enrollment objectives. This is a full-time 12-month administrative position reporting directly to the Head of School.  

?Admissions Responsibilities:

• Accurately and astutely shares MSNV’s vision, core values, educational philosophy, curriculum/programming opportunities, and mission to promote “buy in” and foster assimilation and successful transitions among new student populations and their families

• Understands MSNV and its placementonthespectrumof“price,process,orproduct”anduses that information to guide parents to the “right fit” school to bestmeettheeducationalneedsand goals of their family

• Promotes independent school education holistically to serve a national need for educational choice and opportunity

• Organizes and administers the program for need-based tuition assistance

• Understandstheneedtomaintainabalancebetweenascheduleframedforworkflowefficiency in the admission and enrollment management office and parents’ need for flexibility, when a more extended admission conversation is needed to fully invest in MSNV’s mission

• Utilizes the unique constituent relationship-building opportunity that the admission and enrollment management experience represents to cultivate a culture of annual giving

• Demonstrates respect for competitor schools by delivering in all cases ethical, responsible, and accurate answers in response to the parent question: why ?your ? school

• Cultivates sustainable relationships by establishing a climate of approachability, honesty, integrity, and professionalism, understanding that it is the human factor that best advances the school’s mission

• Tangibly and personally serves all aspects of the admission funnel experience, from inquiry to enrollment to re-enrollment

• Gauges prospective parent interest in new curriculum/programming strands that best meet the academic needs of 21st century students—then conveys those reflections back to school leadership to help drive the acquisition of new, innovative, and/or redesigned curriculum platforms to maximize student opportunity

• Evaluates and maintains all applicant files, confirming receipt of all supporting materials as they arrive, offering clarification to the Head of School as to any aspect of the applicant file; provides status reports to parents and other learning community stakeholders

• Works in partnership with the Director of Marketing Communications to represent the school’s mission in all marketing, advertising, and enrollment collateral platforms

•Maintainsprofessionalaffiliationsandparticipatesinprofessionalgrowthexperiencestoensure that the office of admission and enrollment management employs at all times a “best practices” approach that is data-driven and accountable

• Robustly seeks to maintain an ongoing understanding of the school’s mission and educational philosophy, as well as the student’s experience, through regular engagement with members of the faculty, division directors/heads, and the students and their families—to ensure that “we are who we say we are,” and that we are delivering on the promises and commitments made during the admission experience

• Collaborates with other learning community stakeholders, i.e. Head of School, the advancement team, the operational leadership team, and the academic leadership team, to promote and achieve an “advancement model delivery” of all admission, marketing communications, and development functions

• Manages annual Attrition survey

• Manages the school’s enrollment database system


• Bachelor's degree plus 3-5 years’ experience in private-independent school admission

• Has working knowledge of achievement, aptitude, and diagnostic testing of students

• Is adept at communicating MSNV’s story to various constituencies
