Villa Montessori School is seeking a warm, experienced, and professionally trained Montessori Toddler Guide to join our international school community in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Founded in 2009, Villa Montessori School is committed to authentic Montessori education within a bilingual and culturally diverse community. Our Toddler environment serves children approximately 16 to 36 months old and is intentionally prepared to support movement, language, independence, concentration, social development, and the child's growing sense of self.
We are looking for a guide who understands that the Toddler years are not simply preparation for preschool, but a unique and extraordinary period of human development.
The Role
The Toddler Guide is responsible for leading a peaceful, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate Montessori environment in collaboration with classroom assistants and school leadership.
Responsibilities include:

Preparing and maintaining an orderly, beautiful, safe, and developmentally appropriate Montessori environment

Presenting Montessori activities individually and in small groups

Supporting independence in practical life, movement, language, toileting, eating, dressing, and daily routines

Observing each child carefully and using observation to guide presentations and environmental adjustments

Modeling grace, courtesy, calm communication, and respectful interactions

Establishing consistent routines while respecting each child's individual developmental rhythm

Communicating professionally and sensitively with families

Collaborating closely with assistants, specialists, and school leadership
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who have:

A recognized Montessori Infant & Toddler credential (AMS, AMI, or from a MACTE-accredited teacher education program)

Previous experience leading or working in a Montessori Toddler environment

Excellent spoken and written English

Strong understanding of child development from birth to age three

Excellent observation, organization, classroom leadership, and communication skills

A calm, respectful, patient, and nurturing presence with young children

Commitment to Montessori philosophy and respectful care

Willingness and ability to relocate to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
