The Montessori Academy Edison Lakes (TMA) is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and child-centered Lower Elementary Spanish Immersion Teacher to join our vibrant school community. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a Spanish immersion Montessori classroom while working within a mission-driven school committed to academic excellence, peace education, and the development of the whole child.
Position Overview
The Lower Elementary Spanish Immersion Teacher will serve as the lead and/or co-lead teacher in a 6–9-year-old Montessori environment where Spanish is the primary language of instruction. The ideal candidate is a native Spanish speaker who is deeply committed to Montessori philosophy and bilingual education, and who values collaboration, professional growth, and joyful learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Education or related field preferred)
- Native Spanish speaker (required)
- Lower Elementary Montessori credential (AMI or AMS) preferred
- TMA is willing to sponsor Montessori training for the right candidate
- Experience working with children ages 6–9 preferred
- Strong classroom management skills grounded in respect, independence, and positive discipline
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and administration
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a developmentally appropriate Montessori Lower Elementary environment
- Deliver instruction in Spanish across the integrated Montessori curriculum
- Support each child’s academic, social, emotional, and executive functioning growth
- Observe, document, and assess student progress in alignment with Montessori best practices
- Partner closely with families as part of the Montessori triad (child–teacher–parent)
- Participate fully in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
