Children's House Lead Teacher Maternity Leave

Andover School of Montessori is seeking a full-time substitute to cover a maternity leave position in one of our Children’s House classrooms. The position will last from August 24 to December 22. Qualified candidates must be Montessori (AMS or AMI) 3-6 certified, with at least 2-3 years of experience as a lead teacher in a Montessori classroom. Candidates should have a passion for working with young children, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, a commitment to thinking flexibly, and technical fluency. This role is part of a warm, friendly, collaborative community. You will work closely alongside an experienced assistant teacher and be supported by colleagues who value teamwork and shared Montessori principles.

Responsibilities would include:

• Acclimating new students to the classroom at the beginning of the year
• Following routines and plans set in place for the class by the Lead Teacher
• Attending weekly Faculty meetings
• Regular check-ins with parents
• Fall Parent Teacher Conferences
• Winter Progress Reports
