Assistant Teacher

Assistant Teacher (Montessori, Ages 3–6)

We are seeking a warm, reliable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our Montessori classroom. This role may include assistant, aftercare, or substitute teaching responsibilities.

Working closely with the Lead Teacher, you will help maintain a nurturing, well-prepared environment, support children’s independence and learning, and ensure their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support classroom activities using Montessori principles
• Help prepare and maintain materials and classroom environment
• Supervise and care for children throughout the day
• Assist with observations, record-keeping, and daily routines
• Collaborate with staff and communicate professionally with families

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required (Bachelor’s preferred)
• Experience working with young children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to professional development (NYS OCFS requirements)
• Warm, patient, and joyful approach with children

Additional:
