Seeking an experienced primary guide for a faith-based independent Montessori school. Responsible for all aspects of a Montessori classroom environment, including preparing the environment, offering presentations to children, supervising assistant(s), proactively engaging in parent education and communication, and contributing to the faculty as a whole. Currently the school enrolls 168 students, ages 3 to 14, on a lovely six acre campus in downtown South Bend, Indiana. The school has a farm component to its curriculum, along with Orff music instruction, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Art instruction, and extended day comprised of many various clubs and sports. The school has supportive parents, faculty, and staff that create a positive academic and social culture. Our mission calls us to authentic Montessori, faith, diversity, land-based learning, and community engagement. Substantial professional classroom leadership experience in a 3 - 6 Montessori environment is required.
AMS Early Childhood Credential or AMI Diploma is required.
Experience with and/or certification in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is beneficial to the position and a preferred qualification.
Proven ability to be a self-directed, energetic leader, since this position entails opening a new primary environment, to be the second primary classroom.
