Diverse, established, family-style Montessori school in Dayton, Ohio, is looking for a friendly, organized, motivated, flexible individual to create a quality Montessori upper elementary experience for 12-18 students. Upper Elementary Lead Teacher/Guide is responsible for all aspects of classroom life including classroom organization, outdoor education, lesson planning, record-keeping, progress reports, parent interactions, implementation of classic Montessori program and attendance at relevant school functions. Applicants should have a strong interest in Montessori pedagogy and be creative, industrious and dedicated to creating and sustaining the highest-quality educational environment for each child. The position would be excellent for a trained experienced Montessori Upper Elementary teacher or for a recent graduate of a Montessori education program or for a student teacher completing a Montessori practicum year. A strong practicum support team could be put in place. This is a full-time position from mid-August 2019 through May 2020. There are approximately 188 regular teaching, conference and in-service days with numerous three and four-day weekends interspersed throughout the academic school year.
