Wellan Montessori School in Newton Centre, MA (formerly Newton Montessori School) is looking for a Visiting Artist to help run its Drama Program for the 2019-2020 school year. Responsibilities for this part-time (20-25 hrs per week) position include teaching Drama in Grades 1-6, collaborating with other faculty to lead the after school Drama Club, and doing daily recess supervision with other teachers. The position can be structured as either a 5-day M-F schedule or a 3-day MWF schedule. Hours are generally mid-morning to early afternoon, with extended days on Wednesdays and on special performance days.
- This is a part-time position (no benefits) for the 2019-2020 school year.
- Expected hours will average 20-25 hrs per week.
- Salary is competitive/commensurate with experience.
- Experience teaching drama to and directing plays with children ages 6-14.
- At least 3 professional references.
- Bachelor's Degree or beyond in related field.
- Professional performing arts experience.
- Master's Degree in a related field.
