Metropolitan Montessori School is seeking a nurturing, collaborative and enthusiastic Montessori certified teacher for ages 6-9. A deep understanding of Montessori, coupled with an ability creatively supplement using other curricula, is needed. Our school is sensitive to all learning styles and needs. The environment, teaching styles and size of groups vary depending on the needs of students. An ability to identify and meet the needs of individual students, as well as manage whole class, small group and one-to-one lessons is key. We pride ourselves on our flexibility, creativity and adaptiveness.

Successful candidates also join a Lower Elementary team. The Lower Elementary Program consists of approximately 60 students (3 classrooms) and eight team members. Working closely and amiably with each member of this tight knit community and sharing responsibilities and resources with colleagues is important for success in this position.
The ideal candidate has the following:
Bachelor's degree required; Master' degree preferred
6-9 Montessori Certification
Experience with learning and implementing new curricula
Teaching experience in a metropolitan area independent school
Sense of humor, love of children, and passion for growing as a teacher
Undergraduate degree; 6-9 Montessori certification; classroom teaching experience with hands-on student project design and management skills; strong reading, writing, communication and presentation skills; creative, imaginative, inspirational risk taker and explorer; self-directed, positive, can-do attitude; willing to learn from and work with fellow faculty members as a teaching t
