Inly School is an independent PreK–8 Montessori-plus School located in Scituate, MA that serves over 300 students from 20 South Shore towns and is deeply rooted in Montessori, child-centered, and inclusive educational practices. Inly School seeks a dedicated and reflective Children’s House Lead Teacher to support our Montessori Children’s House program starting in August 2026. The Children’s House Lead Teacher plays a central role in providing a warm, stimulating, and respectful learning environment that nurtures each child’s (Ages 3-6) development to their fullest potential.
All children must be treated with respect and dignity, with their self-esteem as individuals held as a paramount concern. Learning is emphasized through professional practice that values process leading to product, fostering competence, confidence, and self-worth.
Position Overview:
The Children’s House Lead Teacher assists in managing a Montessori Children’s House classroom and works collaboratively with colleagues to design, implement, and continuously improve the program in alignment with Inly School’s strategic objectives and Montessori core values.
As a member of the Inly School staff, the teacher is expected to assist in carrying out the mission of the school, advocate for the school community, and offer input whenever opportunities for improvement arise. Faculty share responsibility for the success of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a comprehensive Montessori and Inly-adopted curriculum aligned with Montessori core values and school priorities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design, implement, and refine age-appropriate instruction, including enhanced literacy.
- Maintain a prepared environment that supports independence, concentration, and exploration.
- Observe, assess, and document student progress to inform individualized instruction.
- Support the whole child through emotionally responsive, respectful, and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Work collaboratively in instruction, classroom management, transitions, recess, and family communication.
- Supervise students during daily routines, outdoor play, arrivals, dismissals, and field studies.
- Participate in interviews, meetings, professional development, and Shared Learning Communities, as appropriate.
- Utilize school resources and collaborate with Learning Services to support student needs.
- Assist with school-wide duties and adhere to expectations outlined in the Employee and Classroom Handbooks.
Qualities of an Ideal Candidate:
- A Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
- Montessori experience preferred
- A minimum of three years of teaching experience preferred
- A strong understanding of the developmental attributes of Children’s House–aged students
- Sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity and the ability to foster an inclusive classroom environment
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A collaborative mindset and openness to feedback and professional growth
- An innovative approach that embraces and celebrates unique learning opportunities
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Salary and Benefits:
Inly School offers competitive pay and benefits. The annualized salary range for this position is $60,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience.
