Lexington Montessori School seeks a Registered School Nurse to start in August 2024.

Lexington Montessori School is a vibrant and close knit community seeking a part-time (25 hours) nurse to be on our campus from 8:30am to 1:30pm everyday. We are looking to find an experienced and organized person to provide quality care and warmth to all community members.  

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to easily connect with children and families; warm and friendly bedside manner
  • Provide emergency nursing for injuries/illnesses
  • Administer and/or supervise the administration of prescription medication to students
  • Assist in the control of communicable diseases
  • Document all student interactions within electronic health records (SNAP)
  • Maintain data and records, including yearly physicals, immunizations, medication administration plans, emergency action plans, and parental consent forms as necessary.
  • Coordinate care for students attending off-campus field trips/overnight trips.
  • Serve as a resource to staff and parents for health-related purposes involving students
  • Offer training and maintain records for staff CPR and health-related certifications
  • Inventory, maintain, and reorder necessary supplies
  • Adhere to the adopted policies of Lexington Montessori School including, but not limited to, medication administration policies and food allergy policies
  • This is a 10-month position, (mid-August through mid-June)Available to begin work Monday, August 12, 2024 to get ready for the opening of the school year.

QUALIFICATIONS OF PREFERRED CANDIDATES:

  • Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse
  • CPR & First Aid Certification
  • BS or BA preferred
  • Prior experience in pediatrics preferred
  • Possess a high-level of interpersonal skills, positive demeanor, and respectful attitude toward all members of our community
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance student wellness and achieve common goals
  • Commitment to best practices in clinical nursing
  • Commitment to meeting the needs of each child and family
  • Experience using SNAP preferred but not required
  • Comfort in Google Suite, Zoom
