Seeking qualified applicant to lead music program for students ages 2 – 15 y/o.
Instructor must implement a developmentally appropriate music curriculum for children:
Toddler (18 mo-3 y/o) and Primary (3 – 6 y/o)
Each Toddler and Primary class instruction is arranged in a large group setting for 30 minutes and is designed to feature a basic music concept that includes developing the singing voice, teacher-directed creative movement to musical selections, focused listening activities, and playing rhythm instruments.
Lower Elementary (6 – 9 y/o) and Upper Elementary (9 – 12 y/o)
Each Elementary class instruction is a group lesson (24 students) of one hour per week. Instruction includes but is not limited to basic understanding of reading music and introduces recorders (or something similar) to students as it becomes age appropriate.
Middle School (ages 11 – 15 y/o)
Instruction develops from the Upper Elementary music curriculum and integrates music theory, music appreciation, and studies of music and culture. Potential for developing band and choir as program grows.
Private lesson instruction available to students as an Elective.
Two group music performances (1 per semester) for Lower Elementary – Middle School.
