Job Summary:

As a Montessori Coach at Columbus Montessori, you will play a pivotal role in supporting educators, administrators, and parents in implementing Montessori principles and practices within educational settings. Your primary responsibilities will involve providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure high fidelity to the Montessori philosophy. Additionally, you will collaborate with stakeholders to assess and improve the effectiveness of Montessori programs.

Responsibilities:

Training and Mentorship:

  • Provide ongoing training and professional development sessions for educators and staff on Montessori principles, methodologies, and practices.
  • Mentor teachers to enhance their understanding and implementation of Montessori techniques in the classroom.
  • Conduct regular observations and provide constructive feedback to educators to support their growth and development.

Curriculum Development:

  • Collaborate with specialists and educators to develop Montessori-aligned curricula, materials, and resources.
  • Ensure that curriculum materials reflect the Montessori philosophy and promote hands-on, experiential learning.
  • Assist in adapting and customizing curricula to meet the unique needs of diverse learners.

Program Evaluation:

  • Assess the effectiveness of classrooms and programs through observation, data analysis, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address challenges or gaps in implementation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions and adjustments on student learning outcomes.

Caregiver and Community Engagement:

  • Facilitate workshops and informational sessions for caregivers to deepen their understanding of Montessori education and strategies for supporting learning at home.
  • Collaborate with community partners and organizations to promote Montessori principles and advocate for high-quality early childhood education.

Professional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with school administrators, fellow educators, and external consultants to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in professional learning communities, conferences, and other forums to stay current on Montessori research and best practices.

 

Requirements:

Montessori Credential:

  • Possess Montessori credentials from a recognized training center accredited by MACTE, the Association Montessori International (AMI) or the American Montessori Society (AMS).
  • Hold certification at the infant/toddler (0-3) primary (ages 3-6), or elementary (ages 6-12),
    • Dual Credential will be preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in applying Montessori principles across diverse educational contexts and age groups.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Montessori education, preferably in a leadership or coaching capacity.
  • Proven track record of effectively supporting educators and promoting best practices in Montessori pedagogy.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts and provide constructive feedback to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, caregivers, and community members.

Commitment to Professional Growth:

  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning in the field of Montessori education.
  • Willingness to stay updated on current research, trends, and innovations in education.

Flexibility and Adaptability:

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and navigate ambiguity in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Flexibility to travel to different school sites or locations as needed for training and support.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in education, early childhood development, or a related field.
  • Experience working in diverse or multicultural educational settings.
  • Familiarity with technology integration and digital resources to enhance Montessori instruction.
