Country Day World School is seeking dedicated Montessori Associate Teachers to join our vibrant learning environment. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our youngest students.

Country Day World School is an Infant-8th grade school located in Largo, Florida.  The school is distinguished by its beautiful 15 acre main campus; the innovative pedagogy that utilizes the Montessori method through grade 3 and transitions to a progressive, preparatory school model in 4-8; and the dedication to providing the highest quality education in the area.

Position: Part-Time Primary Montessori Associate Teacher (Floater)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Lead Teachers: Collaborate closely with the lead teachers to implement the Montessori curriculum and maintain a harmonious classroom environment.
  • Assist with Lesson Preparation: Assist in preparing Montessori materials and activities, ensuring that they are organized, accessible, and aligned with the curriculum.
  • Individualized Instruction: Provide individualized support to students, observing their interests, strengths, and areas for growth, and offering guidance as needed.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture, promoting independence, cooperation, and mutual respect among students.
  • Supervision: Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of students' progress, including observations, assessments, and anecdotal notes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a Montessori classroom or a strong understanding of Montessori principles and practices is highly desirable.
  • Genuine love and enthusiasm for working with young children, along with a patient and nurturing demeanor.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and administrators, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to meet the evolving needs of the classroom and the school community.
