Lead Toddler Teacher

Position Overview:

We are seeking a kind and dedicated Lead Toddler Teacher for our 2024/2025 school year. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young children and contribute to their growth and development during these crucial 18 months to 3 years. We are looking for someone who also enjoys working with staff and students of diverse backgrounds.

Job Type: Full-time 12 month position

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years old.
  • Implement Montessori principles and practices to encourage independence, exploration, and self-discovery among toddlers.
  • Plan and execute developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records of their developmental milestones. 
  • Provide guidance and support to assistant teachers and classroom aides.
  • Communicate with parents through messaging app Brightwheel. 
  • Prepare for and lead conferences and meetings with parents. 
  • Schedule and collaborate with other faculty for Parent Education. 
  • Collaborate with teaching colleagues and administration on event planning and curriculum implementation. 
  • Attend staff meetings, center activities, and staff development sessions as required. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Montessori training and certification from an AMI or MACTE accredited institution for the toddler age group. 
  • Previous experience working with toddlers in a classroom setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and the ability to apply them effectively in the classroom.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

 

Schedule:

  • 12 month position 
  • Monday through Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm.
