Co-Head of School

Dandelion Montessori is a Montessori school serving children ages 2 years, 9 months to 6 years old. We serve up to 25 children and are proud to be part of the Wildflower network—a community of Montessori schools united by shared values and principles.

Your Role

Responsibilities
In collaboration with Devanshi Desai, your responsibilities at Dandelion Montessori include, but are not limited to:

  • Co-Teaching:
    • Co-teach children ages 2y9m–6y using authentic Montessori methods enriched with anti-bias, anti-racist practices.
    • Maintain online student observations, records, and data.
    • Support and lead assessment cycles and reporting processes for all students.
    • Engage in ongoing professional development as a liberatory Montessori leader and co-teacher.
  • Family Engagement & Support:
    • Communicate with families through meetings, newsletters, and family education events.
    • Manage an inclusive admissions and enrollment process, including tours, applications, admissions decisions, and enrollment paperwork.
    • Oversee scholarship programs, grants, city partnerships, and state subsidies to ensure access and support for all families.
  • School Operations:
    • Maintain strong systems for financial management, human resources, licensing, and compliance.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years as a Montessori Lead Guide.
  • Montessori primary credential (required).
  • Massachusetts EEC qualified (preferred Director I or II)
  • School administration experience (preferred but not required).

Hours & Benefits

This position can be either full-time or part-time, with a salary that is commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, supporting your well-being as you help nurture our community.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to move around the classroom and outdoor areas, engage with students at their level (e.g., sitting on the floor and frequently standing), and lift materials up to 30 pounds. Clear vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are necessary to interact with and supervise students safely.

  • Interviews: Candidates will meet with our hiring committee in January and February.
  • Decision: Final hiring decisions will be communicated by March 1st, 2025.
