We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our Montessori program. As an Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with the lead teacher to provide a nurturing and enriching environment for our students. You will assist in implementing the Montessori curriculum, promote the social and emotional development of children, and support their individual learning needs. The ideal candidate should have genuine love for working with young children.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children's growth and development.
  • Assist in implementing the Montessori curriculum, including preparing materials and activities that align with the philosophy and methodology.
  • Support individual student needs, providing guidance, encouragement, and assistance as required.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Ensure the safety of children during indoor and outdoor activities, maintaining a constant focus on their well-being.
  • Foster independence and self-directed learning by guiding students in making choices and engaging in purposeful activities.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment, including arranging materials and cleaning up after activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field preferred. 
  • Previous experience working in a Montessori or early childhood education setting is highly desirable.
  • Passion for working with young children and a genuine interest in their growth and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students. 
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.

Grade levels: • Kindergarten • Pre-Kindergarten, ages 3-6

Schedule: 5 hour shifts available, Monday to Friday
