Description:

MGRI is seeking a passionate and experienced Infant & Toddler (birth-3) Lead Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Montessori philosophy and methodology, along with a genuine love for working with young children during their most formative years.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Classroom Support & Maintenance:

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in creating and maintaining a well-organized and child-centered Montessori classroom.
  • Prepare and arrange Montessori materials and learning activities to meet the developmental needs and interests of the students.
  • Ensure that the classroom environment and classroom materials are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Assist in setting up and organizing the learning environment and materials.
  • Help monitor and maintain classroom supplies and learning materials. 

Student Guidance & Instruction:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere by promoting independence, self-directed learning, and respect among students.
  • Provide guidance and support to students as they engage with Montessori materials and explore their interests.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to guide students through the prepared environment, ensuring that they have access to a wide range of Montessori materials and lessons. 
  • Assist the lead teacher in observing and documenting each student's progress and developmental milestones.
  • Provide guidance and support to students as they engage with Montessori materials and explore their interests.

Classroom Management:

  • Assist in maintaining a peaceful and harmonious classroom environment by modeling positive behavior and resolving conflicts among students using Montessori principles.
  • Support the Lead Teacher in guiding students through daily routines, including arrival, dismissal, snack time, outdoor play, and transitions between activities.
  • Support the transition to after-school as needed.
  • Provide supervision during MGRI’s afterschool program as directed by the administration.
  • Provide classroom coverage in any Primary or Elementary classroom as needed and directed by the administration team.

Professional Development & Community Engagement:

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to deepen your understanding of Montessori philosophy, methodology, and best practices.
  • Participate in staff meetings and adhere to all MGRI policies and procedures.
  • Attend all special events on the academic calendar unless PTO is requested and approved. 

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm (30 min break)
