Montessori of Chantilly  - Casa dei Bambini was established in 2005.  We are located in a new building near Stone Springs Hospital.  MCDB has students from 10 weeks to 6 years. In addition to serving in the role of Lead Montessori Teacher, the Academic Director’s general duties shall include, but shall not necessarily be limited to the following:

  • Adhere to the American Montessori Society (AMS) guidelines and the School’s guidelines for fostering intellectual development through independent exploration.
  • Ensure that the five basic Montessori Principles are nurtured and upheld by classroom teachers:
    • Respect for the child:
    • The absorbent mind:
    • Sensitive periods:
    • The prepared environment
    • Self – education
  • Assist Lead Teachers with curriculum implementation in classrooms.
  • Assess staff training and development needs for lead teachers and work with administrator to locate appropriate professional development.  
  • Conduct classroom observations to support teachers and identify areas of strength and those needing improvement.
  • Assist lead teachers in assessing their student’s strengths and weaknesses and determining action plan for improvement.
  • Provide guidance to lead teachers on creating strong parent/teacher communication and relationships.
  • Assist lead teachers in identifying children showing signs of emotional, development, or health-related problems and discuss with administrator, parents and/or child development specialists.
  • Confer with classroom lead teachers to help them plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curriculum.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation and revision of school curriculum and programs.
  • Advise infant/toddler lead teachers on how to prepare students for transition to primary.
