Chiaravalle Montessori is looking for a dynamic, self-guided, certified Spanish Head Teacher to join our faculty for the 2024-2025 school year.  This person will provide instruction to multi-age classrooms (ages 3-14) from Preschool - 8th grade. The Spanish Head Teacher is a full-time (40 hr), fully benefited position scheduled onsite Monday - Friday between 8am - 4:30pm (depending on the class schedule).  

THE POSITION

The Spanish Head Teacher will collaborate with classroom teachers to thoughtfully integrate the Spanish curriculum into homeroom classes via "push in" sessions, formal classes and/or other structured visits.  This person will prepare and provide learning materials for children to explore and discover independently to reinforce classroom lessons.  The Spanish Head Teacher will utilize best practices in the classroom to provide individualized and differentiated learning plans in order to meet the cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual growth of each child. The role also includes developing Spanish material to teach in our after school and studio programs.

Education & Experience 

The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Education and/or Spanish and Montessori or Professional Educator certification.  You need a minimum of 2 years relevant experience teaching the Spanish language in a school setting, preferably in a K-8 Lead Teacher role and a Montessori setting. Excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication, organization skills are preferred. This person must be adaptable to different situations, communication and social styles. Patience, the ability to stay calm and maintain respectful and peaceful communication with children and adults is also essential.

Other Requirements

Physical requirements include full ability to see, walk, hear and talk as well as lift and carry up to 15 lbs. regularly, up to 40-50 lbs in the case of lifting or carrying a child in an emergency situation, and pushing/pulling/reaching to maintain files, supplies and equipment.
