Teacher (Leave Replacement)

Our school incorporates Dr. Montessori's principles with the influences of the Reggio Emilia approach. We are an ISAAGNY (Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York) non-profit school of children aged 2-6 and a full-time teaching staff of 43. Currently, we are seeking to fill a 2nd semester leave teaching position over the course of the remaining academic year from mid-January to June 2020. This person will work with experienced professionals in a team of three to learn and perfect their skills.

The hours are 8:15 – 4:30 PM every Monday- Friday. Salary commensurate with experience. Our school pays full health benefits including dental, midwifery and therapeutic. We reimburse partial or full tuition for relevant courses as well as total financial support for Montessori training. Our staff enjoys travel and conferences both locally and internationally through the school's generous fundraising efforts.

Minimum qualifications: a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or relevant field. Candidate should also possess a firm knowledge and understanding of child development, developmentally appropriate to teaching strategies, excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work well with both teachers and parents.
