University Village Montessori is seeking a lead teacher for our Infant/Toddler Program. The lead teacher needs to have an understanding of early childhood development, patience and respect for children, ability to encourage children to be independent, model for them appropriate behavior, prepare an environment rich with Montessori philosophy that is both safe and engaging for children, provide opportunities that enhance the child's social, physical and intellectual development, exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and can effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff to nurture a passion for learning in the young child.
Minimum of 3 years experience in an infant/toddler Montessori program preferred. Must be teacher qualified per DCFS standards. At least 6 ECE hours and experience working with children 6 weeks to 6 years old. BA in ECE or related field preferred. Montessori 0-3 certification by an MACTE accredited Montessori training program required.
We are an AMS full member school and are working the AMS Pathway to accreditation.
