Primary (3-6) Teacher
Fox Valley Montessori School is seeking a Montessori certified Primary Teacher to join our
community. This individual will work collaboratively with our staff to prepare and uphold a
Montessori environment that is designed to be safe, resourceful, and supportive of children as
developing individuals. We are looking for someone who is collaborative, enthusiastic, flexible,
and is ready to be an active member of a team that strives to guide children through their
cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development while upholding the Montessori
philosophy in our curriculum.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain a physical environment that is aligned with expectations established for
the Montessori Primary level
• Guide children consistently using Montessori practices to support their social, emotional, and
physical needs
• Hold responsibility for the safety and physical well-being of children at all times
• Model integrity, curiosity, responsibility, creativity, and respect for all individuals
• Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a positive and safe environment
• Observe each child to learn, assess, and plan for their immediate and long term needs
• Use appropriate and comprehensive methods to assess the development level of each child
• Seek out appropriate resources when needed in order to advocate for the physical, cognitive,
and emotional needs of each child
• Work to build and maintain collaborative relationships with parents through honest, respectful,
and timely communication
• Keep open communication with the Executive Director regarding classroom plans and needs
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• AMS, AMI, or equivalent Montessori Credential
• Maintain regular and routine attendance during the hours expected
• Show flexibility and adaptability
