About Us:

The Franklin Montessori School, founded in 2002, is a private institution nestled in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Washington, DC. Serving around 90 students, ranging from 3 months to 6 years old, we offer a wonderful Montessori educational experience in an urban setting.

As a fully accredited American Montessori Society school, we are driven by a mission to nurture capable, independent, confident, and joyful learners. Guided by thoughtfully curious teachers, children here explore and discover, unlocking doors to interdependence in social, physical, academic, and leadership skills. Our carefully prepared classrooms help children gain confidence and develop essential abilities for life.

Within our 19,000 square feet of space, we offer two primary Montessori classrooms, two rooms for vibrant two-year-olds, and three infant classrooms. Our school features indoor and outdoor play areas, a well-stocked library, and a beautiful art studio. With access to Rock Creek Park, our "Beyond the Walls" nature program invites children to connect deeply with the world around them, blending the rhythms of nature with the cadence of learning.
