Wellan Montessori School is currently hiring for a part-time (17.5 hrs per week, 8:30-12 Monday through Friday) position beginning immediately.
As Early Childhood Storytime Teacher, this individual will be responsible for planning and implementing storytime lessons for classroom groups of children ranging in age from 15 months to 6 years (toddlers and preschool). As Library Assistant, this role includes helping to manage the school library collection; book processing, cataloging, and weeding; and providing support and suggested reading material to classroom teachers as needed.
The ideal candidate will be well organized, flexible, and well-versed in children's literature; have experience leading storytime lessons; have strong verbal and written communication skills; and be able to collaborate with other educators in our community to create an environment where children learn, socialize, explore, and grow together as global citizens.
- Part time (no benefits) for 2019-2020 school year
- 17.5 hrs per week, Monday through Friday 8:30-12
- Teaching children ages 15 months to 6 years
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Teaching experience with toddlers/preschoolers
- Library work experience
- Strong collaboration skills
