Job Description: Montessori Toddler Teaching Assistant
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:15 PM

The Montessori School of Long Grove is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Montessori Toddler Teaching Assistant to join our team at an AMS-accredited Montessori school. This is an opportunity to support the growth and development of our youngest learners in a nurturing and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher in preparing and maintaining a beautiful, orderly, and engaging Montessori environment.
• Support toddlers' physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development through respectful guidance and care.
• Foster independence, confidence, and curiosity in alignment with Montessori principles.
• Provide attentive, patient, and loving care during all aspects of the school day, including activities, meals, and rest time.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the safety, well-being, and smooth operation of the classroom.
• Observe children’s behaviors and share insights with the lead teacher to support individualized learning and growth.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance understanding of Montessori pedagogy and child development.

Qualifications:

• Passion for working with young children and a commitment to their development.
• A collaborative and flexible mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Prior experience working with young children (Montessori experience preferred, but not required).
• Physical ability to interact with toddlers at their level, including kneeling, sitting on the floor, and lifting up to 30 pounds as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent, some college (early childhood coursework or certifications a plus), or Bachelor's degree.
