Music Teacher

At Montessori School of McLean, we enjoy musical experiences in the Montessori classrooms and with a specialized Music Teacher. Music class activities include singing, creative movement, body percussion, rhythm instruments, the Montessori bells, Orff xylophones, song writing, drama, play production, and more.

We are seeking a dynamic Music teacher for our Toddler through Lower Elementary programs. This Music teacher will also collaborate with our Upper Elementary Music teacher. This is a part-time position, with a Tuesday-Thursday schedule.

The ideal candidate:

• has experience with teaching children aged 2-9 years,
• is a natural musician who can sing, and play piano and guitar,
• has the knowledge and ability to teach music skills and instrumentation through enjoyable lessons, using a variety of activities
• has knowledge of or experience with Montessori,
• holds a degree related to music and has Orff training (or is able to take the Orff training),
• and most importantly, is warm and caring and works well with children and colleagues.
