Our Mission 

Intercultural is a Dual Language Montessori School for students aged 2 years old to 8th  Grade. Our unique program combines dual language education with the Montessori approach. We  develop global citizens ready to succeed in the multicultural, multilingual world of the future. The  school has two campuses, one in the West Loop Neighborhood of Chicago and the other in the heart  of Oak Park. Our school is a diverse international community and a wonderful place to work! 

Job Description 

The Development Director will lead all development activities at our nonprofit Montessori school. 

The Development Office is a one-person entity seeking a Director to facilitate and expand  development-related activities at our non-profit Montessori school. This person will oversee the  annual fund, special campaign projects and fundraising events. Additional responsibilities include  grant research and writing, donor cultivation, and working with the Board’s Development Committee. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is self-directed and enjoys collaborating and  finding creative solutions. The ideal candidate will have skills to motivate others and to build relationships, both internally and externally. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the school’s Annual Fund by soliciting, tracking and acknowledging all gifts. 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Admissions in publishing an Annual Report. 
  • Manage corporate matching gifts and ensure that the school is maximizing this benefit. 
  • Plan and manage a fall and spring fundraising event and completing all event related follow-up. 
  • Serve as a liaison between the school and the PTA to support all PTA fundraising efforts. 
  • Provide campaign-related support for any special giving campaigns. 
  • Develop donor stewardship and donor recognition programs.
  • Seek out additional funding opportunities for Intercultural in the form of grants,  corporate sponsorships and individual donors.
  • Routinely report on development activities and outcomes. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Fundraising  and development experience
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks 
  • Organized, self-motivated, and goal-oriented 
  • Ability to work effectively with a team 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication 
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of spreadsheets 
  • Proficiency with social media platforms 
  • Proficiency in Spanish, Japanese, Arabic or Mandarin a plus

Pay Range :

$60,000 onwards (Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.)
