Early childhood Lead Teacher

Diamante School in Glen Ellyn is looking for a part-time or full-time primary (3-6) guide for the 2024-2025 academic year starting August 2025. The position is for AM morning half day (8:30-12) 5 days a week. Full-time includes 4 days of afternoon as well (M-Th 12:30-3 pm).

Education and Training

• AMS/AMI teaching credential at the 3-6 level
•  Bachelor's Degree.
• Experienced in curriculum development
• Willingness to be trained in Positive Discipline  

Prior Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of classroom experience preferred.
• Mentoring or co-teaching experience a plus
• Kindergarten enrichment experience a plus. 

Role Expectations

• Create a system for daily observations and record keeping.
• Ensure curriculum goals are met regarding Montessori and cultural enrichment studies.
• Create monthly newsletters with curriculum highlights and classroom news.
• Communicate with parents and staff, concerns or observations regarding child development in areas of social emotional, academic, and motor skills.
• Work collaboratively with the co-teacher to prepare the environment and share responsibilities to write conference reports.
• Develop a reflective teaching practice.
