Chiaravalle Montessori School seeks a Head Teacher to teach Social Studies in our Middle School (MS) program for the 2025-2026 school year. The MS Head Teacher will join our middle school team to provide instruction, present curriculum and conduct assessments to our 7th - 8th grade students to help support their transition to high school. This position is a full-time position, Monday - Friday from 8am - 4pm.

THE POSITION
The Middle School program integrates current research, educational trends and the Montessori philosophy to empower early adolescents. We follow a cycle format with four thematic cycles for each year the student is in the program. These thematic cycles include: Connections, Explorations, Identity, and Systems. The MS Head Teacher we seek will focus on these concepts as it relates to Social World (commonly known as Social Studies). The cycle format starts with students receiving study guides identifying the work plan for that specific cycle. The Middle School Head teacher will observe, plan and implement our program curriculum consistent with the Montessori Method and principles. This person will also implement strategies and accommodations to support a student's learning throughout the cycle. The cycle format is designed to help students develop organizational, decision-making and time-management skills.
This is a fully benefited 10 month salaried position. Education & Experience
The ideal candidate is required to have Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field and Montessori Certification or a State Professional Educator License. You must have a minimum of 2 - 5 years of relevant teaching experience as a Lead Teacher with knowledge and experience in teaching Social Studies. Excellent observation, interpersonal, active listening, verbal and written communication, organizational, and prioritization skills are essential. This person must be adaptable to various situations, communication and social styles. Patience, the ability to stay calm and maintain respectful and peaceful communication with children and adults is also essential.
Other Requirements
Physical requirements include full ability to see, walk, hear and talk as well as lift and carry up to 15 lbs. regularly, up to 40-50 lbs in the case of lifting or carrying a child in an emergency situation, and pushing/pulling/reaching to maintain files, supplies and equipment.
