Requirements
? All persons employed at SSESH must be over the age of 18.
? Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Digital
Communications, or a related field.
? Experience teaching art to Kindergarten, elementary, and/or middle school levels.
? Strong foundation in a variety of artistic mediums and techniques.
? Ability to inspire students and foster creativity and critical thinking.
? Excellent classroom management skills and a patient, nurturing approach.
? Strong organizational skills.
? Experience with integrating technology in art education is a plus.
? Proficiency with Canva and or Adobe Creative Suite is preferable
? Proven results in creating compelling visual media content for a variety of platforms.
? Excellent storytelling skills, both in creative writing and the technical aspects of communicating
the story visually.
? Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
? Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff to create engaging multimedia content to share via
social networks and our website.
? A strong understanding of what constitutes excellent digital storytelling and a commitment to the
data protection of minors.
? Ability to manage confidential information, including communication with families and colleagues.
? Experience with, appreciation for, or an interest in learning about Montessori education
? Authorization to work in the U.S.
? Completion of Safeguarding God’s Children Training (provided by SSESH).
? A successful background check, including fingerprinting.
? Willingness to obtain and maintain first aid, automated external defibrillator (AED), and CPR
certification.
? Position may require extended periods at a desk or moving around campus.
? The position may require lifting objects weighing up to approximately 20 pounds.
? The position may require event support on the weekends and/or evenings.
Duties and Responsibilities
? Teach a variety of art courses to students of varying skill levels.
? Develop and implement engaging, student-centered lesson plans that cater to a diverse range of
artistic interests and abilities.
? Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate the arts into interdisciplinary learning
experiences.
? Organize and supervise art exhibitions and school-wide art events.
? Mentor and guide students in developing their artistic portfolios.
? Evaluate student work and communicate progress with the students and their families.
? Create original and engaging content, including but not limited to videos, photos, and testimonials
that showcase the purpose, mission, and vision of St. Stephen’s Episcopal School.
? Collaborate with the Directors of Community Engagement, Enrollment Management,
Development, as well as Marketing and Communications, to understand the content needs,
campaigns, and objectives of each department.
? Lead students in producing ten (10) large framed, curriculum-based artworks that will raise funds
via auction at the annual Spring Gala.
? Generate and share new ideas for how to better tell the “St. Stephen’s story” to drive awareness
of the school in the larger community.
? Monitor trends to ensure content is timely, relevant, and appealing to our target audience.
? Assist with morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.
? Other duties assigned by the Head of School.
