We are looking for the right person to join our team. Gateway Montessori School has been a not-for-profit primary school in Longmont for over 35 years. We offer a Montessori program both part day and full day during the school year and through the summer.  Our school motto is "We nurture the Love of Learning" and we are looking for someone whose life shows a love of learning and a history of working cooperatively in the classroom. Additionally we are looking for a compassionate, reliable and charismatic individual. This individual must possess a Montessori Credential, preferably MACTE recognised. We are looking for a teacher who is experienced in the Montessori Method with the ability to create a sequence of fresh materials using a variety of current resources, connect ideas to purposeful and sensory activities, and integrate topics and lessons that best serve our group of up to 25 learners aged 2.5-5 years old. This person must also have the skills to collaborate and work collectively with our other teachers and staff as well as contribute a positive attitude, optimistic outlook and fun-loving teaching style. Specific Duties: Our new Montessori Primary Co-Guide must:

Guide students in the learning and understanding of Montessori Curricula. They must oversee and participate in the preparation and maintenance of our clean, beautiful environment in which the furnishings and materials are complete, fully functioning, clean, and correspond to the needs of our mixed age group.

Be responsible for the safety and the physical/emotional well being of the children at all times and actively account for each child upon entry or departure from the classroom.

Maintain current, accurate academic records through Montessori Workspace, and attendance records for all children using cross-reference records or other recordkeeping methods as determined by administration and /or the State of Colorado.

Demonstrate familiarity and compliance with all State Regulations and with policies and procedures as outlined in the Staff and Parent Handbooks and maintain on-going correspondence with parents and authorized persons as according to our guidelines.

Participate in State Mandated Professional development each year and enter all documentation into your regularly updated PDIS file. We also require regularly scheduled days each year for classroom observation.

Salary is based on the current salary schedule and will be negotiated based on level of experience, education, and training and finalized with a signed contract and paid on an hourly basis. The equivalent of one hour for every 30 hours worked is accrued in paid leave annually.
