Full-Time Montessori Trained Primary Teacher

Montessori Discovery School is seeking an AMS/AMI/MACTE certified Primary Lead Guide to lead one of our 3-6 classrooms to join our amazing Primary team! Join our community of joyful students, amazing staff, and wonderful families. Montessori credential required.

Located in beautiful southeastern Connecticut, MDS is a breath of fresh air from the busy city life. Our wetlands and fields provide outdoor explorations for our students as well as a home for our llamas and chickens. Children and staff learn to care for our environment and our animals while gaining independence through our Montessori curriculum. MDS is accredited by the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools, is a member of AMS, and Montessori Schools of Connecticut.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children
• Montessori credential in Primary
• Bachelors degree required
• Interest in learning animal care
• Passion for working with children and families 
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with a team, staff, and administration
• Strong classroom management
• Proficient in the use of technology
• Strong writing and grammar skills
