    • knowledge of Montessori, research, and practice
    • communication with diverse audiences, including public speaking, writing, and convening multiple stakeholders

    • leadership, creativity, and initiative
  3. Video submission (maximum 3 minutes) answering the following questions:
    • Why are you passionate about Montessori?
    • Describe a time when you communicated a complex idea to an audience.
    • How would you handle disagreements or controversies on air, primarily concerning Montessori philosophy?
    • In your view, what is the role of a podcast in promoting and expanding the reach of the Montessori method?

Job Description

Overview: The American Montessori Society will launch a new podcast series to expand its reach and provide informative and engaging content to a broader audience. The podcast series will be an opportunity to share AMS's mission and values globally and showcase the benefits of a Montessori education. Through a series of informative, engaging, and thought-provoking episodes, the podcast will provide listeners with an in-depth understanding of Montessori education and how it can transform the lives of children and families and inspire listeners to take action, whether that means enrolling their child in a Montessori school, enrolling in an AMS-affiliated teacher education program to become a credentialed Montessori teacher or  learning more about this education pedagogy.

We are seeking a talented and engaging Montessori-credentialed Podcast Co-Host to join our team. As the Podcast Co-Host, you will be responsible for planning and co-hosting, compelling podcast episodes that resonate with our target audience. Your passion for storytelling, excellent communication skills, and ability to create a captivating audio experience will be key to the success of our podcast.

The AMS Podcast Co-Host will work closely with the AMS Podcast Producer and the AMS Executive Director to develop high-quality, engaging, and informative podcasts that align with AMS's mission and values. By sharing current research, knowledge, insights, and best practices, AMS can showcase its expertise and thought leadership and be a credible and valuable resource for anyone interested in Montessori education. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the AMS team to conceptualize, research, and produce engaging 20 annual podcast episodes.
  2. Conduct thorough research on episode topics, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  3. Prepare engaging interview questions and conduct interviews with guests or experts.
  4. Host and moderate podcast episodes, demonstrating a confident and engaging on-air presence.
  5. Maintain a conversational and relatable tone while effectively conveying information and ideas.
  6. Actively engage with listeners by responding to feedback, comments, and questions.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and podcasting best practices to continuously improve the quality and relevance of the podcast.

Qualifications 

  1. Proven experience in Montessori and public speaking or similar roles, with a portfolio of successful presentations. 
  2. Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and captivate listeners.
  3. Strong interview skills and the ability to draw out compelling stories and insights from guests.
  4. Creative thinking and the ability to develop unique episode concepts and themes.
  5. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple podcast projects simultaneously.
  6. A passion for storytelling and staying informed about industry trends and current events.
  7. A collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  8. Montessori credentialed
  9. Ability to travel occasionally for live recordings or events.
  10. Passionate about the Montessori method and keen on fostering its growth and understanding.
