Location: Midtown Montessori Academy
Employee Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Campus Director
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Salary Range: $48,000 - $68,000/year, based on experience

Founded in 2018, Midtown Montessori Academy is dedicated to providing an authentic Montessori education for children from infancy through sixth grade. Our mission is to foster independent, curious, and confident learners through a child-led, hands-on educational experience. Position Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Bilingual Primary Lead Guide (ages 3–6) to join our dedicated team of educators at two of our campuses. The ideal candidate is a nurturing, enthusiastic individual who is Montessori-trained and eager to cultivate a rich learning environment that inspires a lifelong love of learning.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a comprehensive curriculum aligned with Montessori principles and responsive to each child’s individual development.
  • Foster a bilingual classroom environment that supports language development in both English and Spanish.
  • Promote independence, critical thinking, and collaboration among students.
  • Observe and assess student progress; maintain accurate records and prepare written progress reports.
  • Guide children academically, socially, and emotionally, while maintaining a respectful, inclusive classroom culture.
  • Prepare and maintain an orderly, safe, and engaging learning environment with appropriately rotated Montessori materials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and share best practices.
  • Communicate regularly with families through weekly emails, parent conferences, and written reports.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development days, and school community events.
  • Uphold all school policies, state licensing requirements, and health and safety protocols.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Montessori Certification (3–6 years) from a MACTE-accredited teacher training program is required
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written communication)
  • Minimum of 3 years of classroom experience as a Montessori Lead Guide
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Deep understanding of early childhood development and the Montessori philosophy
  • Strong classroom management and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and Transparent Classroom (preferred)
  • Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and Universal Precautions (or willingness to obtain)
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs and actively engage in classroom activities, including sitting on the floor
  • Collaborative, professional, and dedicated to creating an inclusive school culture
