Assistant Teacher, Primary Class: Full-Time Position

The Montessori School of Washington is looking for an Assistant Teacher to work in our primary classroom. We are a small preschool and pride ourselves on our personal connection with every family and child we educate. We are looking for a well-organized, energetic, and vibrant person who is interested in becoming a member of our wonderful school and community.

Hours range from 7:30 am -3.30 pm, Monday -Friday.

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Help manage a classroom of children (ages 3-6), providing an environment that fosters the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development of each child
• Assist with all aspects of childcare
• Work with Directress to Plan and implement activities and assignments that are clear, well organized, and designed to meet desired learning objectives for students
• Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment that meets MSOW and OSSE (Office of the State Superintendent of Education) standards.
• Communicate with children, parents, guests, and other staff members in a professional, positive manner.
• Participates in staff meetings, special events, parent-teacher conferences, and trainings, as assigned.
• Assist with other school activities including After School Care, as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Montessori certification or experience will be considered
• Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (or related field) preferred

Job Type: Full-time and starting with summer camp which begins June 2nd.
