The Cornerstone School in Stratham, New Hampshire is seeking an experienced teacher for our Primary Program serving 3-6 year olds for the 2025-2026 school year. Our school operates its classrooms in a co-lead model so you will be entering this new environment with a thought partner as you learn our school and get to know the community of children you will serve together in a beautifully equipped Montessori environment. A Montessori teaching credential from a MACTE accredited program at the Early Childhood/Primary level is required along with relevant teaching experience. Qualified candidates will be dedicated to collaboration, professional development, Montessori philosophy and most of all, children. From their deep and abiding love and respect for children, our faculty work in a collegial setting to be curious observers, reflective practitioners, and knowledgeable of Montessori and educational best practices to work toward Dr. Montessori's vision of educating the human potential. While this cosmic task is a serious undertaking that requires calm confidence, a sense of humor and fun are important characteristics as well. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Position and Work Hours
Cornerstone teachers begin the school year with a 2 week inservice and planning period on August 18, 2025 and finish out the school year on June 18, 2026 (students' last day is a half day half day on 6/12). The employee will teach five sessions in the program per week. Minimum hours are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm daily. Students arrive at 8:15 and the last group dismisses at 2:50pm. The time from 3:15-4pm provides opportunities working in your classroom with your partner and for monthly level or cross-level meetings. Faculty meetings, in-service training, parent/family education, and other events are part of the included duties of a Cornerstone teacher. Compensation is commensurate with experience and benefits include a professional development stipend, AMS membership, annual retirement contribution, employer health insurance contribution, and flexible leave.
The Cornerstone School is an independent Montessori school serving Toddler through eighth grade, with a current enrollment of approximately 170 students.
