The Montessori School of Durham is an AMS-accredited, non-profit school in beautiful Durham, North Carolina. Established in 1976, MSD seeks an experienced Montessori Early Childhood Teacher to establish a new classroom for the 2025-26 school year.
This full-time academic year position starts August 11, 2025.
Hours are Monday – Friday, 7:50 - 3:30 p.m.
Candidates must have a Montessori Early Childhood credential (AMS or AMI) from a MACTE-accredited training program and three years experience as a Montessori Lead Teacher in an Early Childhood classroom. A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood education or a related field is preferred, but not required. Qualified candidates will have a passion for working with children and their families; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; and will be committed to life-long learning, and demonstrate a growth mindset. Minimum base salary = $57,200 (more dependent on years of experience)
Candidates should possess the physical ability to sit on the floor, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel and lift up to 60 pounds. References and a criminal background check are required.
