Sea Pines Montessori Academy at Hilton Head Preparatory School sits at the south end of the island nestled between a maritime forest preserve and the Atlantic Ocean. We serve children, ages 15 months to 12th grade.

We are looking for a Primary Lead Teacher who is engaging and energetic and has a passion for creating a wonderful and authentic Montessori learning environment for our students. The ideal candidate for this role has a warm and welcoming personality and works with the highest levels of integrity and professionalism. This person must be fully dedicated to their students’ best interest and inspired to creatively meet their students’ developmental needs.

Job/Classroom Details:

• The Primary Lead Teacher must have a love of working with children ages 3-6 years old, and a desire to make a lifelong difference in each child’s life.
• The Lead Teacher is responsible for each child’s growth, which involves record keeping, planning, and giving individual, small group and large group lessons.
• The Lead Teacher is responsible for communication with parents. This takes place in two or three scheduled conferences during the school year, as well as any other needed communications that arise during the school year.
• The Lead Teacher is responsible for keeping the environment clean and beautiful.
• The Lead Teacher plans the units of study for the school year. The teaching team may contribute ideas and help in the implementation of various units of study.
• The Lead Teacher is to gain professional growth through attending conferences and seminars. They bring ideas and enthusiasm to the staff and encourage their team to do the same.
• The Lead Teacher is responsible for guiding their teaching team. They delegate duties/responsibilities so that their team is learning, giving, building on their strengths and talents. They help train the staff and delegate responsibilities according to their capabilities.
• The Lead Teacher is to be a positive, supportive member of the Sea Pines Montessori Academy at Hilton Head Prep community.
• The Lead Teacher coordinates transitions and communications with special teachers.
• The Lead Teacher creates connections to engage students in the larger community through field trips, expert research, volunteerism, and local exploration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Montessori certification in Early Childhood
• Early Childhood experience is preferred
• Has strong communication and organizational skills
• Has the ability to effectively work in a team setting and collaborate with other teachers and staff members
• Is a passionate and dedicated teacher who is committed to helping their students succeed.
• Is devoted to creating strong parent partnerships
• Is committed to the social-emotional learning and well-being of all students
