Location: In-Person @ Sterling Montessori Academy & Charter School- Morrisville, NC
Job Type: Full-Time, 10-month contract
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:15 a.m.-4:15 p.m.
Additional Compensation: $5,000 annual stipend for leading the Band and Chorus
Supervisor: Specials Director
Start Date: August 2025

About the Role:
Are you an energetic, passionate Music Teacher? Do you love to inspire young musicians? Are you looking for an opportunity to bring the gift of music to our kindergarten-8th grade students- and to lead our Upper Elementary (4th-6th) and Middle School (7th & 8th) chorus and band programs to new heights? If so, we invite you to join our team as the K-8 Music Teacher & Chorus/Band Director and inspire our young musicians.
As a K-8 Music Teacher & Chorus/Band Director, you will:
- You’ll light up classrooms with engaging, hands-on music instruction from Kindergarten through 8th grade.
- You’ll direct and grow vibrant chorus and band programs for grades 4–8, inspiring confidence and teamwork.
- You’ll showcase student talent through performances, concerts, and school events that bring families and the community together.
- You’ll collaborate with passionate educators and integrate music into a rich Montessori learning environment.
- You’ll make a lasting impact on children who will carry a love of music with them for life.
What You Bring:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education
- Experience leading choral and band ensembles, especially for students in grades 4–8.
- Strong classroom management skills
- Is creative, organized, and ready to think outside the box.
- Thrives in a collaborative, child-centered environment.
- Is excited to be part of a supportive community that celebrates growth, creativity, and curiosity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- North Carolina Teaching License (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Experience in a public or charter Montessori school.
