Montessori Learning Center of Edison Park – Lead Montessori Teacher Early Childhood (3-6)
Position: Lead Teacher for one of our 3-6 classrooms, full-time or part-time (mornings)
Location: Edison Park, Chicago, IL

We are a small, family-owned Montessori school located in the Edison Park neighborhood of Chicago. We pride ourselves on creating a warm and loving environment for the children so that they can feel at home. Our mission is to provide our students with the tools they need to release their full potential.
Responsibilities:
The lead teacher is responsible for preparing an enriching, clean environment for the students. They must lead the classroom following the Montessori philosophy and they must follow our school’s discipline and health guidelines.
Our school hosts Parent-Teacher conferences twice a year which the lead teacher must prepare notes and a progress report for. The lead teacher must be able to speak to the parents about their child’s growth and development kindly and professionally.
The lead teacher must be able to effectively manage the classroom and collaborate with the assistant teacher and other staff members in a respectful and professional manner.
Requirements:
- AMS/AMI Montessori Early Childhood Credential
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a Montessori classroom
- Lead Teacher experience not required.
