We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Primary Montessori Teacher to join our team and guide our young students on their educational journey.


Position Summary:


The Lead Primary Montessori Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a prepared Montessori environment that fosters the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of each child. The Lead Teacher will guide children aged 3-6 years, implement the Montessori curriculum, and cultivate a peaceful and engaging classroom community. This role requires a deep understanding of Montessori principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for nurturing young minds. The Lead Teacher will also serve as a role model for Assistant Teachers in the classroom.


Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a well-prepared, organized, and aesthetically pleasing Montessori classroom environment.
  • Implement the Montessori curriculum with fidelity, presenting lessons and materials in a clear, engaging, and developmentally appropriate manner.
  • Observe and assess each child's individual progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet their unique needs and learning styles.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom community that promotes collaboration, independence, and self-discipline.
  • Guide children in developing self-confidence, concentration, and a love of learning.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, providing updates on their child's progress and fostering a strong home-school connection.
  • Supervise and mentor Assistant Teachers, providing guidance and support in classroom management, lesson delivery, and Montessori philosophy.
  • Attend all staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance Montessori practice and meet all state requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Principal, fellow teachers, and support staff to ensure the smooth operation of the school and the success of all students.
  • Uphold all safety requirements and maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment.


Qualifications:

  • Montessori Primary Teaching Credential (AMI or AMS preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Lead Teacher in a Primary Montessori classroom.
  • Strong understanding of child development and Montessori philosophy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create a positive, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Passion for fostering children's natural curiosity and love of learning.
