Duties
- Work with co-teacher to develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote student engagement.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, creating a respectful and inclusive environment conducive to learning.
- Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
- Assess, plan and implement strategies for special education students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and ensure their educational goals are met.
- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive school community.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
- Incorporate techniques for working with children who have developmental disabilities into daily lesson plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- Texas Teaching License
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and best practices for engaging young learners.
- Experience working with children who have learning differences
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A passion for nurturing children's growth and development in an educational setting.
- Either Montessori certified or willingness to take Montessori training within the next year.
