The Cornerstone School in Stratham, New Hampshire has an opening for a Toddler Guide - Co-Lead Teacher. We are seeking an experienced teacher for our Toddler Program serving 17 mo-3 year olds to start in the Fall of 2025. Our school operates its programs in a co-teaching model so you will be entering this new environment within a team of 1-2 other experienced teachers as you learn our school and get to know the community of children you will serve together in beautifully equipped Montessori environments. A Montessori credential is not required, though it is preferred, along with relevant experience.
An AMS or AMI credential (or one in progress) is preferred along with relevant teaching experience. Qualified candidates will be dedicated to collaboration, professional development, Montessori philosophy and most of all, children. From their deep and abiding love and respect for children, our faculty work in a collegial setting to be curious observers, reflective practitioners, and knowledgeable of Montessori and educational best practices to work toward Dr. Montessori's vision of educating the human potential. While this cosmic task is a serious undertaking that requires calm confidence, a sense of humor and fun are important characterstics as well. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Position and Work Hours
Cornerstone teachers begin the school year with a 2-week inservice and planning period the week of August 18, 2025 and finish out the school year the week of June 15, 2026. The employee will teach five sessions in the program per week. Minimum hours are 7:30-1:30pm daily; our Toddlers dismiss at 12:30 so that the final hour of the day is time for planning and resetting the classroom. Thursdays are scheduled as a 'late' day where Toddler teachers stay until 4pm in order to provide opportunities for cross-level meetings, making the regularly expected hours of this position approximately 32.5 per week. Faculty meetings, in-service training, parent/family education, and other events are part of the included duties of a Cornerstone teacher.
