Job Title: Spanish Instructor for PK3 - Grade 8

Department: Support Staff

Job Status: Opportunity for either a Part-time Job Share or Full-Time

Starting Date:  August 2025 (Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.)

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience, level of education, and credentials, according to the school's established salary schedule for teachers.

  • Bachelor’s Degree starting salary is: $35,310 (adjusted for years of experience)
  • Master’s Degree starting salary is: $40,127 (adjusted for years of experience)

Purpose: The purpose of the Spanish teacher is to coordinate and facilitate the implementation of  Spanish curriculum and instruction to increase students’ knowledge, understanding, and communication skills with those around them.  

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree, Spanish teaching experience
  • Experience Desired: Three (3) years in a similar position

 

Essential Functions/Skills:

  1. Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards for K-12 World Languages. 
  2. Plans and implements culturally responsive lessons that are engaging and reflect the Ohio Standards and the diverse community of students served. 
  3. Monitors student engagement & achievement and utilizes the data to guide and inform instruction.
  4. Records trimester grades into the student information system (FACTS) by deadline.
  5. Works collaboratively with teachers and administration.
  6. Establishes a professional and supportive relationship with all students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
  7. Possesses solid instructional and classroom management capabilities.
  8. Participates in ongoing professional growth and serves on committees or groups as requested.
  9. Maintains and ensures a clean, sanitized classroom and playground environment.

Physical Requirements:  Constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, standing and walking.  Repetitive motion with wrists, hands, and fingers.  Frequent bending, carrying, hearing, lifting, and stooping.  Ability to travel to all places where student activities and instruction take place. This may involve several minutes of walking from one part of the campus to the other.  In some instances, such as emergencies, this may need to be done rapidly.  Access to various building locations may involve climbing stairs or ramps, opening doors, and negotiating around furniture and tight spaces.  Must be able to communicate and demonstrate competence, with support, in health care, especially in the care of diabetes, asthma, and allergies.

Other Requirements:  Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Ability to work with computers for word processing, spreadsheets, and data skills.
