Position: Montessori Classroom Assistant
Location: Wayland Montessori School, Wayland MA

Compensation: Reflective of Experience
Training Required: EEC Lead teacher or teacher Certification
Education Required: High school or equivalent; associate degree in education preferred
Experience Required: 2+ Years in a Preschool Classroom; Montessori experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist in a Montessori classroom with integrity and adherence to Montessori principles.
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead teacher to apply the Montessori pedagogy to every aspect of the classroom, ensuring an authentic and enriching experience for all students.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to support a cohesive and nurturing school community.
  • Communicate appropriately with parents and caregivers to foster a supportive home-school relationship.

Qualifications:

  • EEC Lead Teacher or teacher certified required.
  • Associate's degree in Education or a related field preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a preschool classroom; experience in an authentic Primary Montessori classroom preferred.
  • A deep commitment to Montessori philosophy and practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A joyful and passionate approach to teaching and guiding children.
