Job Overview
Pioneer Valley Montessori School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Lower Elementary Guide to join our educational team in the 25/26 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive environment for young learners. This role involves developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with parents and staff to support each child's educational journey. A full-time assistant will support the classroom and ensure a successful transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Lower Elementary Classroom (Grades 1-3) in alignment with Montessori principles.
- Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans that address a range of learning styles and developmental needs.
- Foster a positive classroom culture through proactive behavior guidance and mutual respect.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through ongoing observations and assessments.
- Provide intervention strategies for students who may require additional support in their learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
- Integrate technology as a tool to enrich student engagement and learning when appropriate.
- Collaborate with special education staff to accommodate students with varying needs, ensuring an inclusive classroom experience.
- Participate in education administration tasks, including record keeping and curriculum development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (required).
- Montessori Elementary Certification from a MACTE-accredited institution (in-progress candidates will be considered).
- Prior teaching experience in a Montessori Lower Elementary environment (preferred).
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A nurturing and flexible approach to teaching.
- Commitment to professional growth and reflective practice.
